The Wonder Woman Tag

Dear Emma,

Now, you may have noticed that I don’t do as many tags/awards as I used to, and that is nothing to do with the person that nominated me, because I am really happy with and grateful for every nomination that I receive. I just don’t find them interesting, both for me to write and for you to read. I mean, there’s only so many seven facts about yourself that a person can do. So I normally only do tags when I really like the concept or it’s a really original idea.

Like this one! Smooth segway there, Tara.

As many of you know, today is National Women’s Day. I personally am all about the gender equality, not just feminism etc. but also the chance to choose your gender and identify yourself any way you want to, regardless of your biological sex. But I want to say something about that another time.

Today I am doing this tag, to celebrate, in a way.

This tag is called The Wonder Woman Tag and I was nominated by the lovely Iridescence (I am so sorry if that’s not the name you normally use) but I quite like this tag (yanno, spreading positivity and all that).

The rules of the tag are:

  • Mention and link the person who tagged you.
  • Tag five female bloggers who inspire you and give a reason why.
  • Nominate the five mentioned female bloggers to do the tag!
  • Add the header image. (Already done, I’m such a pro.)

Although, me being me, I’m going to change it up a little bit. I am going to do five female bloggers, but I’m also going to do five females who inspire me in real life.

Five female bloggers:

Em – I definitely had to put you first, Em. I know that you have a lot going on in your life, but you’ve stayed so strong, and you aren’t afraid to admit that you need help sometimes. And, you don’t hesitate to help any of us if we need it too. You’re just amazing 🙂

Tash – Lately your blog has become something different to what it was before, and I really like it!  I think that’s because you’re letting more of your personality into your posts, which is awesome! 😀

3liittlebirds – I mean, this is kind of cheating because I know you in real life, so I really could have nominated you for both categories, but I’ll put you here. You definitely inspire me, in so many ways both on WordPress and off. Your blog has become soooo much more amazing than it was and every one of your posts makes me smile. But then you’re also an incredible friend when I don’t refer to you by this name, you’re always there for me (I know that now) and I love you :3

Wandering Girl – Okay, this is also kinda cheating. But you are also an inspiration, I know you have had a bunch of changes in your life and you’ve still kept smiling and I really like that about you 🙂

Reine – Your blog is amazing, and you have such a huge following now (proud, by the way) that I honestly don’t know how you did it. But you definitely deserve it!

Real-life females:

My mother: I am fully aware of the fact that it was Mother’s Day a few days ago, but that doesn’t really matter, because mothers can be celebrated every day of the week. Yes, we have our differences but she has literally been there from day one (God, friends, where have you been 😉 ) and I know that she always has my best interests at heart (even when I don’t admit it) and I really don’t know what I’d do without her.

Penguin: Now, what you have to figure out is did I actually want to put you in this list or am I putting you in this list because you’ve been asking me to blog about you for so long? 😉 I’m kidding, I’m kidding. Of course you’re on this list. You are an incredible friend, I definitely need your dry sense of humour to stop me from getting too cocky 😉 and no matter what you think of yourself, I definitely think you’re special and important and all of that, whatever happens. ❤

Dolphin: Again, you are an amaaaaaaaazing friend, and not because you are willing to trek around the school with me whenever I forget things 😉 You always help me to figure out what is wrong with my life, and whenever things do happen you’re always there to pick me back up again (not literally, I think you’d fall over 😉 ) but yes I love you and you hold a special place in my heart too ❤

Dodie Clark: These next two are not technically people from real-life, but they are. Dodie is my musical inspiration 24/7, her voice and her harmonies and her songwriting and her Youtube channel and her creative use of fairy lights and EVERYTHING ABOUT HER IS MY GOALS. She inspires me so much, and as cliché as it seems, I really want to grow up to be like her.

Joanne (J.K.) Rowling: Let’s just point out that I pretty much owe this woman my childhood. She was the first reason that I wanted to start writing, because she had created the most incredible fictional universe that you could literally live in, and inspired and touched so so so many people all over the world, which is what I want to do.

I owe all of these people a debt of gratitude, really, because they are all such an inspiration and they mean a lot to me 🙂

Anyway, that’s the end of the tag! I obviously nominate all the people that I tagged (hmm, I wonder if JK Rowling would do it if I asked her) and I hope you have fun with it!

Hope you had a fun Women’s Day!

Love from,

The Social Media Blog Tag

Dear Emma,

So this tag was created by the lovely Chloe, and I am very excited to do it because it’s a really cool and original idea compared to all of the others rotating around the blogosphere. That’s given me a really weird mental image of a little earth with ideas whizzing around it.

giphy (7)

ANYWAY, tangent over, the rules of the tag are:

  • Thank the person that tagged you.
  • Choose a blog/blogger per category and explain why you chose them.
  • Optional – Finish off the explanation with a gif and/or a # which best describes them.

So I was nominated for this award by Elm (thank you so much 🙂 )
I could talk about you right now, but I shall save that for later…….

Each of these categories is named after a different social media and, although I have mixed opinions about social media, I love the way this tag works. But that’s a story for another time. ON WITH THE TAG!

Instagram – A Blog With a Design You Love

Yes yes, I know that she created the tag, but that definitely doesn’t stop her from being nominated, because I love the design of her blog! The font and the headers work so well along with the black flowers and it’s so pretty. When I first went onto her site I just went giphy (1).gif

Facebook – A Blog With a Friendly Blogger

I didn’t even need to think about that one. I don’t think I’ve ever properly said it before, but Elm, I love you. You and I have become such good friends which is apparently bad according to some anonymous idiot but moving on throughout this past year (yes, it’s almost been a year, I can’t handle it either) and I don’t know what I’d do without you anymore. We’ve been through a lot together, and I’m so proud of you and your amazingly successful blog (even though you refuse to admit it 😉 ) I could probably nominate you for Youtube as well, but I won’t get possessive about it because that would be weird. Anyway, I love you. Keep doing what you’re doing and the rest of the blogosphere will just be like this for the rest of time. Elm, FYI it’s a picture of people bowing down 😉

Twitter – A Blogger Who Could Write 140 Characters And You Would Still Love Them

I love reading your posts, Aspen, they’re always really great or inspiring in some way. I’m sure you could write 140 characters and I’d still love it. Keep being you, Aspen, and I’ll keep cheering for you and supporting you.

giphy (5).gif

Youtube – A Blog You Are Convinced You Are The Number One Fan Of

Again, I didn’t have to think about this one. You’re one of my best friends in real life, and you are the reason I created my blog (thank you, by the way). Recently you’ve improved your blog so much – I love the new style and structure and I look forward to your posts every time. I’m always going to be here to support you and I have been from the beginning (you know, hence the category) and I’m so so so proud of you with everything you do. Here’s to more followers, more success and more blogging together in the future!

giphy (3).gif

Vine – A Blog You Haven’t Been Following For Long But You Still Obsess Over

This and That

Now this blog only came into existence this week, but I can already tell that it’s going to be amazing. My lovely friendy 3liittlebirds (see above), GeorgieGrl, Tash, HappyAlexx, InfinitMagic, Allison and Littleblog have come together to form an epic blog of collab-ness that I’m sure is going to be so popular because it’s such a good idea. I shall be reading the posts every day and obsessing about how good it will be!

Snapchat – The Blogger Whose Updates You Can’t Wait For

Tash, I love your blog, your posts are so relatable and I’m a huge fan! And you’re such a nice person, you leave lovely comments on my posts and you’re always here to support me, and I’m here to support you too if you need me 🙂giphy (4)

Tumblr – A Blog That Keeps You Entertained

I love your posts, L, they’re so funny and relatable, but you also know how to be serious when you need to be. Fun fact, I tried to type your hyperlink and accidentally typed lifeofbling. Personally I think you should change your name to that.

giphy (9).gif

Pinterest – A Blog Which Is Full of Creativity and Inspiration

Another one that I thought of instantly. Em, I’m such a huge fan of your blog, you always manage to inspire me or make me think. Your posts are so well written, they’re engaging and relatable, they’re always about something that I really connect to. You deserve all of the success you’re getting, and I will be sat here like this until you get back from hiatus.

giphy (8).gif

That was a lot of fun! For once I was actually excited to do a tag because it’s new, and it’s original. Once again well done to Chloe for coming up with such a good idea, and thanks to Elm for nominating me 🙂

I’m tagging everyone I nominate, including all the members of This and That, so I hope you have fun!

I shall exit like this kid on a skateboard. It feels like a metaphor for my life.

The Fairytale Challenge: Day 1

Dear Emma,

So my lovely friend The Wandering Girl has created The Fairytale Challenge, and I thought I love fairytales, and I love challenges! So for five days I will be posting the topics of the fairytale challenge! If you want to get involved, click here, I’m sure that she’ll love it if more people sign up!

Gemma Logo

Day One: Which fairytale character would you be and why?

Now, there are different ways for me to interpret this question. If it’s which character I’m physically like, I’d probably say Snow White.

She’s cool and all, but I’m not really into the whole sit-down-and-wait-for-a-prince-to-rescue-you type of attitude.

So if it was which fairytale character I’d like to be, I’d probably say Mulan. I’m not sure if she counts as a fairytale character, but according to the internet she does, so I’m going with it.

I just love the fact that she doesn’t sit there and wait for something to happen to her, or sing about how her dreams will maybe come true or that her prince will maybe come, she goes out and she fricking saves China.

If that’s not aspirational, I don’t know what is.

The Blogger Awards 2015

Dear Emma,

So my awesome blogger friend The Ambivert has come up with an epic idea: the Blogger Awards 2015. Basically, there are many different categories of awards, and you nominate people for them, like the Oscars, or the BAFTAs, or… I can’t think of any more awards but you get the idea.

I’ve already officially nominated them over on Ambivert’s blog, but I thought I’d go into a bit more detail about my choices here.

Remember Drag and Drop Stories starts tomorrow, if anyone has thought of any extra prompts comment them here, they would be much appreciated!

So, I’m going to go through the categories and my nominees, and I’ll link to all their blogs below.

Blogger of the year: This is without a doubt Elm, she is the queen of the blogging world, always looking out for new bloggers (like me when I first started) and over time she’s become an amazing friend. She is my inspiration, and one day I’d hope to be like her. Elm, I love you 🙂

Blog of the year: Again, another easy one. LyfWithEm has one of the most inspiring creative relatable blogs I have ever seen, and she deserves this award 100%, not only because of her blog, but also because she is incredibly kind and such a good friend to me and to everyone else in this community.

Best photographer: Now this person is new to the blogging community, but I do really love her photography skills, and that’s The Wandering Girl. Go check her out, because her photos are great!

The newbie: That has definitely got to be Dziey, for one reason. Ever heard of the 5 Day Challenge? That has got to be one of the best ways to make your mark on the blogging community.

Prettiest blog: I actually really like the look of Ambivert’s blog, and I know these are your awards, but I’m nominating you! Come on, who doesn’t love Matt Smith in the rain?

So these are my nominations, I know I didn’t do every category but these are the ones I’ve decided on 🙂

Excited to start the stories tomorrow!

Love from,

The Liebster Award

Dear Emma,

So my lovely friend over at The Wandering Girl nominated me for The Liebster Award! She is a great blogger so definitely be sure to check her out!

The rules are:

Post the award on your blog.

Thank the blogger who nominated you, and include a link to their blog.

Write eight random facts about yourself.

Nominate eight bloggers who you think are deserving and who have less than 200 followers.

Answer the questions put forward by the nominating party and put up 8 questions for your nominees.

So, eight random facts about me:

  1. I am a weird mix of being a procrastinator and incredibly lazy, which means that I can’t be bothered to finish a task unless I can do it perfectly.
  2. My favourite colour is red, although recently I’ve been loving gold and icy blue.
  3. My favourite animal is without a doubt a lion, they are simultaneously the most majestic and adorable of all creatures.
  4. My two loves are writing and music, sadly these have to be pushed aside a lot of the time to make room for responsibilities.
  5. A book I’ve been loving at the moment is “All the Bright Things” by Jennifer Niven, it’s such an incredible story. Go read it!
  6. I really want to redecorate my room, and I have for literally forever.
  7. I once accidentally called 999 and slammed the phone down while home alone. I then felt so bad that I rang them up again to apologise, which in hindsight may have not been the best idea because I’m still preventing someone with a real emergency from calling. Well done me.
  8. I am constantly terrified about whether I have any close friends, even when I know I do. I don’t think I’ll ever stop worrying about it.

Okay, so now I have to answer these questions.

What is your favourite meal? In terms of comfort food, I would probably say my mum’s spaghetti bolognaise. That stuff is good.

What is the most played song/ your favourite song? Right now I’ve been obsessed with Troye Sivan’s new album but my all-time favourite song? I don’t actually know, I love music too much to just pick one 🙂

Describe yourself in 7 words. Friendly, Sensitive, Overthinker, Musical, Generous, Indecisive, Thoughtful.

Write something in a different language. Hola, je mange les jambes de les petit enfants. Adios. Wait, that was two languages. Oh well.

If you could go back in time, where would you go? I would go to either the 50s or the dinosaur times. That’s either me in heaven, or dinosaur-nerd child me in heaven.

On a scale of one to ten, how much are you excited for Christmas? About 1000.

What are you most thankful for? The fact that I have a home and the opportunity to have a good education. Also my musical ability, I take a lot of pride in that.

What did you want to be when you were younger? When I was really little, I think I wanted to be a scientist. But for a long time I had no idea, I think I wanted to be a zookeeper.

And the bloggers I’m nominating are:

AKA The Author

And I’m actually going to ask you to do these questions, because they were a lot of fun for me!

The Three-Day Quote Challenge: Day 3

Dear Emma,

So I’m in an odd mood right now, and I found a quote that sums up what I’m feeling at the moment, and it’s day three, so…

I don’t know why or how or when this happened, but lately I’ve been realising that I am initiating all the conversations with my friends outside of school. All of them.

If I didn’t make an effort, sometimes I don’t think we would talk. Which would probably mean they don’t want to speak to me.

Just once, it would be nice to feel special because someone wants to talk to me, and not because they’re just replying to something I’ve said.

I’m not going to talk about this again, but…yeah I’m feeling it today. Sorry to any of my real-life friends. It will pass soon I promise.

Love from,

The Three-Day Quote Challenge: Day 1

Dear Emma,

So, aeons and aeons ago, Elm nominated me for the Three-Day Quote Challenge, and I thought that now is as good a time as ever to start it. Better late than never, right?

So today’s quote is:

“No-one is too old for fairytales.”

I am definitely a firm believer in this. You go through an age where you’ve “given up” on fairytales because it just isn’t realistic to want a happy ending.

Then you start to realise that there are things in this world that are beautiful and magical and eventuall that happy ending becomes more and more tangible.

Hopefully mine is out there somewhere.

Love from,

The Infinity Dreams Award

Dear Emma,

You know I’m really liking these dramatic award names. So, for this one you have to name five of your biggest dreams, and then nominate five other bloggers to do the same.

Big thanks to NerdHope24 for nominating me for this award 🙂 and here we go!

Dream 1: That the cure for cancer is found as soon as possible. As someone who’s first-hand experienced just what cancer can do to a close family member, I don’t want anyone to go through that anymore.

Dream 2: That whatever I end up doing, I’m happy. Even if I don’t end up where I currently think I want to be, I just want to make sure that I’ll be doing something I love.

Dream 3: That, eventually, everyone manages to accept themselves and others around them. I know it’s hard, but I really think that it would make the biggest difference to the world.

Dream 4: That we as a species somehow manage to sort out the Earth. That’s a big one for me, because there seriously isn’t any point to growth and expansion and “progress” if there isn’t any planet to share it on.
Dream 5: That I can forgive people for what they’ve done against me, and that I have happy and healthy relationships for the rest of my life.

Apparently the hyperlinks don’t want to work for me today, so I’ll try again in the morning 🙂

Love from,

The Sunshine Blogger Award

Dear Emma,

I thought that after the epic series that was Drag-and-Drop Stories, I would calm down and finally respond to some of the awards that I’ve been nominated for recently.

This one is from a while back, but thanks to Tiegan for nominating me for this! She actually nominated me twice, so I have fourteen questions to answer instead of seven.

DC or marvel? Easy. Marvel all the way.

What is your favourite thing to wear? It took me a while to think about this, but I decided on my checked shirts. I am obsessed with them, and you can wear them loads of different ways.

Are you a morning person or a night owl? I would have given you a different answer to this question if you asked me a year ago. I used to get so much more done in the morning, but I’m definitely a night owl now.

Where do you see yourself in ten years? Now, are we being realistic? Because if we weren’t I would say that I’m living in London, writing a book and working on an album to release to the world. If we are being realistic, then I don’t know. Follow your dreams, kids!

What do you find least attractive about a person? Hmm, I’m not sure. I would say that when they refuse to accept anyone else’s point of view. That can be really annoying.

Do you read fanfiction? If so what fandoms? What, me? Read fanfiction? Hahahahahaha don’t be ridiculous……..obviously not.

What colour are your eyes? Brown. Apparently that is the most common and boring of eye colours. Good to know.

What one skill do you wish you could have? I have wished that I could dance so many times, it would just be such a great thing to know how to do.

Favourite TV show? At the moment it’s the Great British Bake Off, I am obsessed with it! Although it always makes me really hungry.

What is your favourite Girl and Boy name? My favourite girl’s name used to be Crystal, but now it just makes me cringe. I have a bit of a thing about names, actually: my name is quite unusual, so I’ve always wanted to name my children something a bit more normal. This might sound like a stupid reason, but as a child I used to constantly be sad because my name wasn’t on those stupid keyring things, and I kinda don’t want my kids feeling the same.

Who’s blog do you enjoy the most to read? (I’m looking to find more people to follow) Well, there are two that come to mind right now. The first is 3liittlebirds and the second is Fliss. Both are good friends of mine in real life, and I love their blogs, so go check them out!

So now I need to nominate eleven bloggers and set eleven questions of my own.

1. Elm

2. 3liittlebirds

3. Fliss

4. gxxdbyeagony

5. A Teenage Diary Online

6. NerdHope

7. Shubby

8. Ocean

9. Dreams and Movie Screens

10. Child of Cynicism

11. Tosin

And my questions are:

1. If you could tell yourself one year ago one thing, what would it be?

2. What kind of person would you like to be when you grow up?

3. What do you look for in a friend?

4. Would you rather be a penguin or an eagle?

5. Which instrument would you love to be able to play?

6. What item in your room do you feel attached to the most?

7. If there’s one thing about your life that you could improve, what would it be?

8. Do you think you would be a good Prime Minister/President?

9. How afraid are you of other people’s opinions?

10. What is the most adorable thing on the planet? Pictures please!

11. And because I need more blogs to follow, name three blogs that you love to read!

That’s it! I promise that I will catch up on all the awards you’ve nominated me for soon!

Love from,

The Liebster/Infinity Blog Award

Dear Emma,

Award number two! Yay! Actually, I received this nomination and three others at the same time as I received the nomination for the Beautiful Blogger Award, but I’m spacing them out, just so you don’t get overwhelmed by awards.

Once again, thanks to Elm for nominating me 🙂

So, this award is basically a mixture of the Liebster Award and Infinity Dreams Challenge, which means that I will be answering the questions that Elm set me, and then answering some of my own.

So, let’s-a-go!

Sorry. Couldn’t resist.

  1. If you could change into an animal at will, would you rather change into a squirrel or a badger? I would probably be a squirrel, because then I could climb trees and have a large fluffy tail. They are just so damn cute. Although after playing Shelter I have a newfound respect for badgers. RIP my badger babies.
  2. What’s the nearest glass thing you can see? (A glass doesn’t count) Hmm, well, I wear glasses, and they are always the nearest things I can see. Does that count? 😉
  3. Use one word, that isn’t a colour, to describe your eyes. Ooh, that’s a tough one. I would say either hazel or cinnamon. Are those boring words? Maybe.
  4. Do you like feeling strong emotions? It depends on whether I feel like I have control over my life at the time of the emotion. If it is extreme happiness, then yes, but extreme sadness or loneliness (sadly I experience both a bit too much) can be horrible after a while.
  5. Why is your blog called what it’s called? Well, when I was thinking of starting a blog, my friend Emma was leaving the school. I figured that I would always feel close to her if I was writing a letter to her every week. It was basically like a little leaving present.
  6. If you were stuck in a lift for 3 hours with only one person, who would that person be? Well, I’m not going to be shallow and say my favourite celebrity *cough* Taylor Swift *cough* and instead I’ll say Elm. We literally talk about so much for so long I would have no problem spending three hours with you 🙂
  7. What’s the most stupid question you’ve ever been asked? Haha, this is an easy one. I once got asked whether England was in Europe. Also, on the same day the same person asked me whether England was a part of the United Kingdom. If you’re wondering, the person asking me was fourteen years old. A pretty serious geography lesson commenced after that.

So now I have to set seven questions of my own.

  1. If you could swap lives with any person that you know for a day, who would it be and why?
  2. If you could swap lives with anyone who has ever lived, who would it be and why?
  3. Describe what you can hear around you right now.
  4. Do you consider yourself to be a selfish or selfless person?
  5. How realistic are your dreams?
  6. If one character from a book could be in the real world, who would you want it to be?
  7. What is the thing you don’t like most about yourself?

And now I have to nominate some bloggers.

Actually, I’m not going to do a specific list this time, so I nominate all of you lovely people reading this 🙂 looking forward to reading your questions!

Love from,
