The Infinity Dreams Award

Dear Emma,

You know I’m really liking these dramatic award names. So, for this one you have to name five of your biggest dreams, and then nominate five other bloggers to do the same.

Big thanks to NerdHope24 for nominating me for this award 🙂 and here we go!

Dream 1: That the cure for cancer is found as soon as possible. As someone who’s first-hand experienced just what cancer can do to a close family member, I don’t want anyone to go through that anymore.

Dream 2: That whatever I end up doing, I’m happy. Even if I don’t end up where I currently think I want to be, I just want to make sure that I’ll be doing something I love.

Dream 3: That, eventually, everyone manages to accept themselves and others around them. I know it’s hard, but I really think that it would make the biggest difference to the world.

Dream 4: That we as a species somehow manage to sort out the Earth. That’s a big one for me, because there seriously isn’t any point to growth and expansion and “progress” if there isn’t any planet to share it on.
Dream 5: That I can forgive people for what they’ve done against me, and that I have happy and healthy relationships for the rest of my life.

Apparently the hyperlinks don’t want to work for me today, so I’ll try again in the morning 🙂

Dear Emma,

Perspective is a funny thing. Everyone’s got their own opinions and points of view, and sometimes it takes a long time for that to change.

A slightly random example: up until the age of about nine years old I lived in a cul-de-sac down the the road from a park. It was literally the epitome of a simple life: my world didn’t stretch further than the houses of the kids that lived on my road, and maybe the park once in a while. We played in the street in the summer and had snowball fights in the winter.

At the bottom of the garden there was a tree that we nicknamed the “Barney Tree”, because it was so tall that its height resembled Barney the dinosaur. Anyone remember Barney the dinosaur?

But anyway, in my opinion that tree was the largest thing on the planet, and no-one could convince me otherwise.

Then, as I grew older, I ventured into the town with my parents, and there was a telephone mast in the centre of town. It was about three times the size of the tree. Needless to say my tiny mind was well and truly blown.  I began to realise that maybe that tree wasn’t the largest thing on the planet.

So I went on with my life, until we moved house. We moved to a new area, and one of the more notable things about it was the fact that it was dwarfed by a power station.

If I thought that the telephone pole was tall, then the power station was another thing altogether. The first time I saw it I stared at it in awe because I had no idea that anything could be that huge.

I guess the point I’m trying to make here is that nothing is set in stone. My world started expanding with the discovery of new things, and I realised that opinions can change in the blink of an eye.

Unfortunately it’s not always that easy. There are a lot of people in the world who completely refuse to have their minds changed, because they are stuck in them. They are so focused on what they know that sometimes they can’t open up to new ideas.

I’m sure we can all be like that sometimes. Maybe all we need is a change of perspective.

Dear Emma,

It is about halfway through September right now, and so I should be allowed to say it.

It’s almost Halloween! Commence the spooky celebrations!

Halloween happens to be one of my favourite holidays. There’s something really fun about being scared, and Halloween is a perfect opportunity for fright.

Last year I went trick-or-treating with my friends, and we had a good time (and got a lot of sweets) but we recieved a lot of judgemental looks from the people in the village. Otherwise known as you’re too old to be trick-or-treating

Unfortunately we decided they were right, so we’re not going this year.

But, on the upside, my parents have allowed me to have a Halloween party this year! Yes, I’m shocked too, I never thought that they would agree to it when I suggested it.

Let me just say I love having parties.

I know that a lot of my friends prefer attending parties, and to some extent I agree with them. There’s no mess to clear up after the party is over and it’s less stressful because you don’t need to worry about everyone having a good time.

But I find it really fun to plan parties too. You can choose the decorations and the food and think of things to do and basically just have a lot of fun with it.

Genuinely I think that planning the party is as fun as having it. Even if half the people I invite turn up I will still be really happy with everything.

What is your favourite thing to dress up as for Halloween? I need ideas!

The Sunshine Blogger Award

Dear Emma,

I thought that after the epic series that was Drag-and-Drop Stories, I would calm down and finally respond to some of the awards that I’ve been nominated for recently.

This one is from a while back, but thanks to Tiegan for nominating me for this! She actually nominated me twice, so I have fourteen questions to answer instead of seven.

DC or marvel? Easy. Marvel all the way.

What is your favourite thing to wear? It took me a while to think about this, but I decided on my checked shirts. I am obsessed with them, and you can wear them loads of different ways.

Are you a morning person or a night owl? I would have given you a different answer to this question if you asked me a year ago. I used to get so much more done in the morning, but I’m definitely a night owl now.

Where do you see yourself in ten years? Now, are we being realistic? Because if we weren’t I would say that I’m living in London, writing a book and working on an album to release to the world. If we are being realistic, then I don’t know. Follow your dreams, kids!

What do you find least attractive about a person? Hmm, I’m not sure. I would say that when they refuse to accept anyone else’s point of view. That can be really annoying.

Do you read fanfiction? If so what fandoms? What, me? Read fanfiction? Hahahahahaha don’t be ridiculous……..obviously not.

What colour are your eyes? Brown. Apparently that is the most common and boring of eye colours. Good to know.

What one skill do you wish you could have? I have wished that I could dance so many times, it would just be such a great thing to know how to do.

Favourite TV show? At the moment it’s the Great British Bake Off, I am obsessed with it! Although it always makes me really hungry.

What is your favourite Girl and Boy name? My favourite girl’s name used to be Crystal, but now it just makes me cringe. I have a bit of a thing about names, actually: my name is quite unusual, so I’ve always wanted to name my children something a bit more normal. This might sound like a stupid reason, but as a child I used to constantly be sad because my name wasn’t on those stupid keyring things, and I kinda don’t want my kids feeling the same.

Who’s blog do you enjoy the most to read? (I’m looking to find more people to follow) Well, there are two that come to mind right now. The first is 3liittlebirds and the second is Fliss. Both are good friends of mine in real life, and I love their blogs, so go check them out!

So now I need to nominate eleven bloggers and set eleven questions of my own.

1. Elm

2. 3liittlebirds

3. Fliss

4. gxxdbyeagony

5. A Teenage Diary Online

6. NerdHope

7. Shubby

8. Ocean

9. Dreams and Movie Screens

10. Child of Cynicism

11. Tosin

And my questions are:

1. If you could tell yourself one year ago one thing, what would it be?

2. What kind of person would you like to be when you grow up?

3. What do you look for in a friend?

4. Would you rather be a penguin or an eagle?

5. Which instrument would you love to be able to play?

6. What item in your room do you feel attached to the most?

7. If there’s one thing about your life that you could improve, what would it be?

8. Do you think you would be a good Prime Minister/President?

9. How afraid are you of other people’s opinions?

10. What is the most adorable thing on the planet? Pictures please!

11. And because I need more blogs to follow, name three blogs that you love to read!

That’s it! I promise that I will catch up on all the awards you’ve nominated me for soon!
